FUTURE MEMORY is an art project in which Akira Fujimoto and Cannon Hersey, in cooperation with Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, photograph the museum’s A-bombed materials using the latest high-resolution 3D technology from 2019, and use the data to represent the A-bombed artifacts in a virtual space, presenting the memory of war as a new experience for the present. This is an art project that presents the memory of war as a new experience for people today. In order to raise the issue of how to convey the memory of war, and to foster empathy and change consciousness through the power of art and technology, the project will create opportunities for interaction with people through art exhibitions, cultural events, and educational programs in Hiroshima, Tokyo, New York, and Geneva, leading to education and awareness.
